Core Values

1. Integrity

To me this means following through and delivering when I give my word. I also like Warren Buffett’s description – Before you do something ask yourself, ‘Would I be proud (or embarrassed) if my grandmother found out about this? Or if the local media ran a story about me doing this?

2. Empathy

Especially when I have a hard time seeing the other person’s position, attempt to put myself in their shoes. And whether I agree with their position or not, care about their well-being.

3. Excellence

Strive for excellence in each activity I decide is worthy of my time.

4. Ownership

Act as an owner to do what’s in the best interest of the organization and stakeholders. Don’t use the excuse “that’s not in the contract” or “that’s not in my job description.”

5. Learning

Part of my daily practice is to read and learn something new. If I learn at least one new useful thing, then I’m grateful and consider it a worthwhile day.

6. Challenge

I challenge myself to be better each day. I challenge each person I communicate with to be better today than they were yesterday.
